Title continues her charming Librarians in Love contemporary series with this heartwarming and amusing third installment (after Falling for Trouble). Fresh off a breakup with the latest in a string of ho-hum boyfriends, Becky Schrader is just looking for a hot one-night stand. She gets more than she bargained for when she meets delightfully bearded Foster Deacon, who’s sporting the hottest of rugged lumberjack looks. Too late, she discovers the lumberjack bit is a lie; Foster is actually the new hotshot lawyer coming on at the firm where she’s the law librarian. The pair rub each other the wrong way at work, until they start rubbing each other the right way after hours. But Foster doesn’t plan to stay in Denver forever, and Becky isn’t likely to leave. The story is warm and gentle without making the protagonists’ choices too easy. Fans of the series and new readers alike will be eager for the next installment. Agent: Louise Fury, Bent Agency.

After yet another break-up, law librarian Becky follows her best friend's advice to pick up a hot guy for one night of action. Come Monday morning, Becky is horrified to find out that Deke-from-the-sports-bar is Foster Deacon, the firm's new hotshot intellectual property lawyer. Foster is thrilled to find his mystery girl, but his caseload and their families complicate things, not to mention Becky's rules for dating: no geniuses and no lawyers. The third in Title's Librarians in Love series, following Falling for Trouble (2017), has the same witty dialogue, laugh-out-loud humor, and realistic depictions of library life that made the previous installments fan favorites. An excellent subplot involving Foster's troubled younger sister doing community service at the dog shelter run by Becky's best friend creates opportunities for interaction outside the office while adding depth to both characters. Refreshingly, the romantic conflicts don't stem from easy-to-solve misunderstandings or an inability to admit their feelings but from rather subtler realistic barriers. A one-night stand becomes a law librarian's newest patron.Foster Deacon has not returned home to Denver from New York City to settle down, as his mom thinks; he's there in order to work at a new law firm, without any help from his dad, and then he's leaving again. He has mixed feelings about his move, but on his first night home, he receives a sign that he's made the right decision--he meets a cute blonde in a bar looking for a fling and brings her home. When he goes to work on Monday, however, his fling is sitting behind the reference desk. The blonde turns out to be Becky Schrader, who thought the "dirty lumberjack" she picked up would be the perfect one-night stand, until he walked through the doors of her law library as her firm's hotshot new associate. Foster was supposed to be a break from trying to find Mr. Right, not a second date, and in any event, she no longer dates lawyers. Even though the last thing either wants is an intraoffice romance, tortured by already knowing how good they are together, both find excuses to stay in touch, even sinking so low as to flirt through emails about legal journal subscriptions. The sparks between Foster and Becky from the start make their story a wee bit spicier than Title's (The Undateable, 2017, etc.) first two Librarians in Love books, and a hefty subplot gives it more heart than anyone would expect from a love story centered around a law firm. Title has completed her trilogy with yet another very funny romance that celebrates a headstrong librarian heroine, though, like the first two books, this entry can be read on its own and will attract new readers enticed by her alpha lawyer hero. In particular, fans of Jennifer Crusie who haven't yet discovered Title's knack for sparkling contemporary stories will take to this one before the end of the first chapter.A charming finale to a contemporary romance series good enough to wipe out years of librarian stereotypes.
